4 Robert Norden > Francis Norden > Rev Robert Norden
1) Robert is mentioned in a court case in Richmond Virginia 1759. Robert
is probably deceased at this time.
2) He is also mentioned as the nephew and executor of Arthur Bridges.
Court of
Chancery 1759 Wittingham and Sewells division
Oct 12, 1759 - Bill of Complaint by Richard Bridger against George
and Ann Lathbury.
In 1752 George
Lathbury mortgaged some land in Sussex to Robert Norden for a loan
of 250 pounds. Norden was led to believe that the property was free
from all encumbrances. He later borrowed 350 pounds from George Goldsmith
using the same property as security. Norden and Goldsmith asked for
repayment of the loans together with interest. Arthur Bridger of whom
Robert was nephew and executor agreed to lend the money to repay them.
Details of this agreement drawn up in 1757 in which the land was used
as security.

5 Charles Norden and Elizabeth Norden (spelled Noden) > Robert
Norden > Francis Norden . Rev Robert Norden
1) Mention of Charles Noten by Elizabeth Noten as her brother.
2) Elizabeth Norden was orphaned before 1759.
3) Sometime around circa 1759, James George married Elizabeth Noden
in Caroline Co, VA. It is possible that Elizabeth had been residing
with the George family, as after she was orphaned, she first chose her
brother Charles Noden as guardian, but later John George (James' father)
was her guardian.
"John George
was born 18 Aug 1704 [per the John Brown Family Bible] in Middlesex
County, Virginia. He was probably named for his father's brother John
George of Isle of Wight County."
On 14 Mar 1761
James George was named in a Caroline court record. This is complex,
but here it is. The case was Charles Noden (James' brother-in-law)
with an action of debt against John Thilman and Robert Mickelberry
(both are James' cousins). The case was brought by Edmund Byne, assignee
of James George, who was assignee of Richard Woolfolk, assignee of
Charles Noden. Charles Noden lived outside of Caroline Co, VA at this
time, hence the need for having someone sue on his behalf.
source http://www.martygrant.com/gen/george/george-james-pittsylvania.htm
(Charles Noden, son of Rev Robert Norden was by this time deceased
and in any case Elizabeth was born well after he died so she had
to belong to another brother)
Proof 6 William Norden
> Rev Robert Norden (speculation, there are no documents)
1) Christopher Norden seems to follow the accepted naming pattern of
Virginia for this period. IE Naming the first sons and daughters after
grandparents before the parents. Christopher's 1st 4 children are:
Thomas, - Named for wifes father Thomas Emmerson
William - possible fathers, father
Martha - Named for wifes mother Martha Walker Emmerson
Sarah - possible fathers mother
John -
